Encompassing 20 square miles on the western border of Somerset County and characterized by two village areas, North Branch and Neshanic Station to the south, Branchburg Township features close proximity to conveniences ranging from dining and shopping to transportation and recreation.

Farmland and established suburban neighborhoods comprise the landscape of this semi-rural township bordered by the Lamington River on the north and the North Branch and South Branch of the Raritan River on the east and south.

Branchburg Township plays host to a wide array of notable attractions and institutions, including Raritan Valley Community College and Neshanic Valley Golf Course rated the 4 ^th most playable public access course in New Jersey by Golf Magazine. The River Lea Farm, consisting of almost 1,000 acres and now in Farmland Preservation, was the first in the state to receive the Dairy of Distinction award.
