By Turpin Real Estate - February 24, 2020

Bonnie Brae Tartan Ball on Saturday

Celebrate Sadie Hawkins Day or Leap Year on Saturday, February 29th at the 34th Annual Bonnie Brae Tartan Ball taking place at the Park Savoy in Florham Park. Titled “One Giant Leap: Moondance,” Bonnie Brae will honor The Far Hills Race Meeting Association/Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Somerset Community Health Partnership for their commitment to Bonnie Brae as well as to four other non-profit organizations committed to promoting and improving healthcare in the region. For additional information on this event visit the link provided HERE.

The Far Hills Race Meeting Association celebrates its 100th Anniversary in 2020, and in that time the organization has donated over $18 million to support local health care organizations. They have partnered with Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Somerset to invest in the advancement of community health services in the region.

Through this partnership, $885,000 has been awarded to five non-profit organizations including Bonnie Brae, Community in Crisis, The Arc of Somerset County, Cancer Support Community and Lifecamp, all of which serve northern Somerset County and are committed to making a positive impact for youth and families. The funds, which will be disbursed over the course of three years, are provided through proceeds from the Far Hills Race Meeting Association and are administered through Somerset Health Care Foundation, the hospital's fundraising arm.

The Far Hills Race Meeting takes place every October and traces its origins to the Essex Hunt, a fox hunting event founded in Montclair, NJ in 1870. In 1913, the organizers of the Essex Hunt incorporated as the Essex Fox Hounds. In the tradition of these clubs, the Essex Fox Hounds established an event to thank the farmers and landowners who allowed them to hunt on their property. The Farmer’s Day Race Meeting, as it became known, included the New Jersey Hunt Cup Steeplechase — a race that remains on the Far Hills Race Meeting card today.

Bonnie Brae is one of many charitable organizations based in the Somerset Hills that give back to the community. If you would like more information about living in Far Hills, Somerset County luxury homes for sale or luxury homes for sale in New Jersey, contact Turpin at 877-788-7746.
